Article Contest Bizi Birləşdirən DəyərFinal results of The Value That Unites Us contest being as a breathtaking venture for journalists in second half of the past year and held by Azercell Telecom JV have got its announcement. Prize awarding ceremony for contest winners has unfolded in Hyatt Regency Hotel.
The ceremony has started with brief introductory speech pronounced by Mr.Halim Ateş, CEO of Azercell Telecom JV. Noting this common gathering of journalists who came here again thanks to this pleasant reason, CEO has underlined excellent relations between Azercell and media representatives. According to him, both Azercell and mass media are striving for the sake of the same goal: “You are providing information to people and we, as Azercell, help you in facilitating of your duties. We are trying to enable people receive all what they wish to know in very comfortably way. In this regard, the press and Azercell are in the fullest harmony. We are stronger only if we are moving hand in hand and developing together”.
Recalling Development Sharing Platform strategy launched by Azercell Telecom last year, Mr.Halim Ateş has emphasized that they gave preference to the development of professional journalism in Azerbaijan: “This strategy constitutes a new stage in our close relations with mass media and being as a leading technological company, its central goal is to share this development we achieve with press playing a role of public mirror. Our company continues to be committed to the principles of ensuring open and transparent information for mass media. We do always our utmost to maintain our existing trusty relations with mass media”.
Mr.Halim Ateş has said that the last year is remembered by Azercell as the year of making public a new Corporate Brand - The Value That Unites Us: “It is obvious that this is not a simple slogan. It reflects the level and the stage we have attained by our increasing activities within this country throughout last years. We have announced that we are turning out into a company which brings truly a value to the lives of people. During 11 years, we were proud to serve Azerbaijan and now we wish that Azerbaijan would be proud of us and for us, to become a company that can be a pride for Azerbaijan. If you remember that during the presentation of our corporate Brand in this country, we have also announced The Value That Unites Us article contest for journalists. The main goal of this Contest is to encourage journalists to write interesting essays about their understanding of values and to share these values with readers”.
In his speech, Mr.Halim Ateş, CEO has spoken about the goals of The Value That Unites Us contest. In his opinion, it is not by accident to choose such a name for this contest: “We wished to bring the values forgotten through times and not shared with our youth back on agenda. If we will fail to maintain these values and will forget them, then it will be remembered as the values of other countries. The main goal of holding such contest is to maintain these values, make them understandable, create new values and share them with people”.
In his words, as the outcome of this contest, the target was hit: “In fact, I would love to call this contest not as “an article contest”, but as an exercise. Together with you, we have endured this outstanding exercise. I do hope that you will uphold these past values further and continue to concentrate on creation of new ones.”
As far as relations of Azercell with media are concerned, Mr.Halim Ateş has vowed to continue these links and implement further such projects.
Afterall, Mr.Akif Rustamov, head of Jury Council assessing the essays of contest, lecturer at journalism faculty of Baku State University has taken the floor. He has noted that we feel Azercell’s breathing in every corner of this country. In his opinion, everybody knows the name of this Company. Mr.Akif Rustamov has also noted that judges have positively assessed the name of this contest. In his words, almost 70 essays have been presented for the contest. Every member of Jury Council has studied every single essay and assessed them in accordance with 10 level appraisals. In this regard, 90 percent of assessment done by members of this Council has coincided. Those essays which earned differing assessments have been re-examined. Mr.Akif Rustamov has wished all journalists to be guided only by facts and write the true things. In his opinion, this Contest organized by Azercell will be more remembered in comparison with other contests due its great looking features.

But as usual, Azercell Telecom has brought an innovation once again. According to Mr.Rufat Abbasov, press secretary of the company, the works of all journalists participated in this contest have been assessed and the digital voice recorder and other valuable presents have been given to all those participants who failed to gain any awards.
