First GPRS/MMS rouming service from Azercell

Azercell Telecom JV, leader of Azerbaijan cellular communication market, has taken another important step to expand nomenclature of roaming services. Azercell Telecom and the leading mobile operator of Turkey Turkcell have signed an agreement to put into operation roaming service GPRS/MMS.This new type of roaming service, which is for the first time applied at the mobile communication market of the country, Azercell’s subscribers could use in Turkey. Being in Turkey Azercell’s subscribers could connect to Turkcell network and use GPRS/MMS services.

1 Kb of GPRS/MMS roaming service costs USD 0.014. Minimum calculation is 100 Kb, this means that Azercell’s subscriber will pay USD 1.48 for the used time till 100 Kb and USD 0.014 per each Kb above.

Turkey is a friendly and brotherly country, which first recognized Azerbaijan’s independence, and the country supporting the republic at the international arena. Economic relationships are dynamically developed between the countries. According to year 2004 results, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkey, which is among four countries with which Azerbaijan has the most intensive foreign trade ties, totaled USD 407.5million.
