Azercell offers comfortable communication with U.S. and IcelandBaku, August 31, 2006 “Azercell Telecom” JV has signed the GPRS/MMS roaming agreements with 11 mobile communication operators “T-Mobile (Voicestream)” from U.S.A. - USA, USA 16, USA W0, USA W1, USA W2, USA W3, USA W4, USA W5, USA W6, USA 27, USA 31 – and international roaming agreement on sea with Island operator “Siminn Iceland Telecom Ltd/ Ocenacell”.
Considering that U.S.A. are the strategic ally of Azerbaijan, signing of GPRS/MMS roaming agreement with mobile communication operators of this country is a very important event. The new GPRS/MMS roaming agreement will improve political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries and will favor their integration. By present “Azercell Telecom” JV has concluded GPRS/MMS agreements with 54 operators from 28 world countries.

Now international roaming agreement on sea concluded with “Siminn Iceland Telecom Ltd/ Ocenacell” will allow subscribers of “Azercell Telecom” JV, who are on a business or tourist trip to Island, to use a wider assortment of communication services.
The roaming service on sea created by “Geoling” firm and put into operation in 2000 has obtained an international patent. By present 320 world countries have signed the roaming agreement on sea. With this service the subscriber could use mobile communication on sea without additional equipment.
By present “Azercell Telecom” JV has concluded 282 roaming agreements with mobile communication operators from 128 world countries.
