Azercell Telecom JV awarded as Company of the Year

Azercell Telecom JV has reached one more achievement within its consecutive successes in the telecommunications sector. Azercell Telecom JV awarded as Company of the Year at the presentation ceremony that brought together leading business companies of Azerbaijan at Gulustan Palace on November 30.

The ceremony opened with a brief film on the history of the “Company of the Year” National Award. Ibrahim Baharov, head of the “Company of the Year” National Award Organizational Committee, welcomed the guests and briefed the participants about the project.

According to him, the Award, founded by Consulting and Business Magazine, aims to unveil achievements of companies which enjoy high economic efficiency, stable position on the market, intensive development, and pursue apparent corporate policy for shareholders on the basis of international standards on financial transparency and information openness.

Then, the event moved to the most interesting stage – awarding companies for their success during 2007. The name of Azercell Telecom was announced among the first again and it was declared the winner of the “Company of the Year” National Award in the telecommunications sector.

The award was presented to Halim Ates, general manager of Azercell Telecom J.V.

“The awards we receive make us happier and give us more incentive for further development. I hope we will continue on this way to receive new awards as we did up to now. We will continue do the best for Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis ”, -said Halim Ates.

For the second time, Azercell Telecom has received the award which is presented to the brightest and most dynamic players in Azeri market. Besides telecommunications, companies were this time awarded on nominations of finance, industry, IT, transportation and construction, business services, mass media, education and health.
