Azercell Telecom was awarded as “The charitable company of the year”

“Azercell Telecom” JV has been implementing a lot of projects of social support to all parts of society along with its qualititave communications service to subscribers during 11 years of its activities in Azerbaijan. As a result of its social contribution, the company was awarded as “The Charitable Company of the Year” by the Non-Governmental Organizations’ Alliance for Children’s Rights.

Azerbaijan NGO Alliance for Children’s Rights holds “Leave No Child Out” campaign together with the State Committee for Family, Women and Children’s Issues starting from last year. The institutions and persons well-known for their activity on children’s rights protection are awarded within the campaign. Major goal of this award is to appreciate the works done by the organizations that work for and with children, and to draw attention of society to this issue as well.

The nominees of the award were announced on June 15, 2007 during the presentation ceremony held at the M. Magomayev State Philharmonic Theatre. Receiving the award Ms. Kamilla Isayeva, Head of the Corporative Communications and Social Responsibility Division of “Azercell Telecom” JV said that the company has always been taking care of children and perceive it as its most important mission. “We always feel our responsibility to take care children the children. They are, our future. Azercell understands its social responsibility in regard to society and implements a number of projects in this direction. We will continue carrying out this mission in the future”, she added.

The Organization Committee held a survey among the population on seven nominations in 5 large cities and regions of Azerbaijan.

“Azercell Telecom” was a winner of “Leave No Child Out” National Public Award in 2006 also for its activity on children’s rights protection.
