Azercell Telecom is awarded again Ugur Prize

The Company gets the Prize for Successful Re-branding

On February 16, the Ugur 2007 National Prize awarding ceremony has been held in the field of economy and business. This Prize founded by Consulting & Business magazine is giving to business people, State and public figures for their services to boost and develop the national economy.

While delivering his speech, Mr.Ibrahim Baharov, Chairman of Organizational Committee of Ugur Prize during the event organized in Gülüstan Palace has described main reasons of establishing such prize. Afterwards, prize awarding ceremony in the field of economy and business has started in presence of participants. As it was previously, this time again Azercell Telecom Company has been cited among first place winners. The leading mobile operator in the country has earned the Prize for Successful Re-branding. Prior to awarding ceremony, several minutes video clip has been demonstrated about successful activities of Azercell. It has been mentioned that Azercell Telecom with its 3 million subscribers has built its Quality Management System back in 2000 and obtained the Certificate on Compliance with international ISO 9001 standards for the first time in region.

Ugur 2007 Prize has been received by Mr.Rufat Abbasov, press secretary of Azercell Telecom. He spoke about the targets of the company represented by him: “Serving Azerbaijan and Azerbaijanis during last 12 years; Azercell has unveiled its new Corporate Brand called “The Value that Unites Us” in the beginning of last year. We are resolved to become a company which can be a pride for Azerbaijan by conducting our activities under this slogan.” Mr.Rufat Abbasov has expressed his gratitude to the founders of this Prize for having accessed highly the activities of the company. Several businessmen, leaders institutions have been also awarded with Ugur 2007 Prize.

Prize holders’ names are determined at the basis of polls conducted by this magazine. Respondents have almost every year mentioned success of Azercell Telecom. In this regard, Azercell Telecom has been awarded the following prizes year by year: Prize for Volume of Services and Speed of Steady Development of Quality in 2000 and Ugur Prize in 2002 for the Best Management. In 2003, Azercell has been chosen as the Company of the Year. After having obtained the Title of the Best Charity of the Year in 2004, it gains the Prize of the Project of the Year in 2005 for its “GəncSim” Project. During the same year, Azercell has become the winner in Telecommunication Nomination. Finally, Mr. Halim Ateş, CEO of the Company has been awarded with Ugur Prize as the Top Manager of the Year in 2007.
