International Training to be held for TV journalists in Baku

Azercell Telecom company which attaches a high importance to the co-operation with journalists continues its activities in fostering professionalism of media. For the fist time in Azerbaijan, Azercell will organize international training for TV journalists in March. During this training which will mobilize television journalists of Azerbaijan alongside with their colleagues from Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, renowned journalists from Reuters Television will talk about preparation of TV news, researching news, television recording, effective use of camera, editing and other important processes. Besides lectures in this training, there will be practical exercises and video templates that will boost efficiency of training.

Training will be held on March 10-14 and participants will deepen further their professional knowledge by playing various games and fulfilling practical instructions.

Training will be spearheaded by Ms. Nino Ivanishvili, Senior Producer of Reuters Television for CIS countries and Mr. Anatoly Verbin, former chief journalist of Reuters in Bulgaria who lectures in training via Foundation.

The participants completing successfully this international training organized with the support of Fintur Holdings Group of Companies will receive Azercell and Reuters certificate.

The specific feature of training is also explained by the fact that it will attract participants from five countries – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan. During training Azerbaijani TV journalists will exchange their ideas with colleagues from neighboring countries and get the chance to establish business contacts.

Mobile operators “Moldcell”, “Geocell”, “K’Cell” and “Coscom” working relevantly in Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, large part of shares of which is owned by Fintur Holdings Group of Companies will organize competition between their journalists in their countries. Winners will be sent to international training to be held by Azercell in Baku. While being in Baku, foreign journalists will go for the best sightseeing in Azerbaijan and will be supported in forming positive impressions about Azerbaijan.

In general, only 15 candidates will be chosen from five participating countries and given an opportunity to join the said prestigious international training program organized by experts who have professional experience in the field of TV journalism.

Following competencies are expected from all those who wish to take part in international training:

  • At least two years of practical experience in television journalism;
  • To work in one of TV companies in present times;
  • To have abilities excellent verbal and written skills in Russian;
  • To be enthusiastic about continuation of career in the field of TV journalism;
  • Finally, to be present in Baku during the dates of courses.
