First International Training for TV journalists
organized by Azercell in Baku has started
Baku, March 11, 2008 First International Training for TV journalists organized by Azercell Telecom in Baku has started its work. This training which brings together TV journalists from Moldova, Georgia and Kazakhstan alongside with their Azerbaijani colleagues is led by Ms.Nino Ivanishvili, CIS Senior Producer of Reuters Television and Mr. Anatoly Verbin, former chief correspondent of Reuters Agency in Bulgaria.
The first day of training was marked by discussion of the following items: “What is Business News?”, “Television is News written by Pictures”, “Television is a Team”. Journalists have been explained on how to choose rightly a subject of television news and prepare it properly. Presenting its recommendation as “information accuracy is not a single condition, but its quality of being interesting is also important”, Reuters specialists have judged interests of spectators as one of top priorities in choosing TV subject.
In order to raise the effectiveness of training, experts have organized different creative games with journalists and demonstrated video samples to participants.
During five days training media representative will be given comprehensive information on preparation of television news, its investigation, writing for TV, effective use of camera and other important creative processes. Participants will have a possibility to improve their professional knowledge by listening daily lectures, playing various games and fulfilling theoretical and practical exercises.
“This is the first professional development project with media bias done with the support of Fintur Holdings Group of Companies. I am very pleased that it is we, as Azercell, realize this project. We do hope that this training will be very useful both for Azerbaijani and foreign journalists from the point of view of professional development” – said Mr.Rufat Abbasov, Press Secretary of Azercell Telecom in his speech during the training opening ceremony.
During this training, Azerbaijani journalist will also have an opportunity to conduct discussions with their colleagues from neighboring countries as well as to build working relationship.
Participants completing successfully international training organized with the support of Fintur Holdings Group of Companies will be given Azercell and Reuters certificate in the final ceremony that will be held on March 14 in Europe Hotel.
15 candidates in general have been selected from Azerbaijan and other countries to participate in international training. Azerbaijani journalists are represented by republican and regional TV reporters. Foreign journalists have joined to this event at the basis of selection done by their relevant mobile operators. Moldcell, Geocell and K’Cell mobile operators which operation in Moldova, Georgia and Kazakhstan and largely owned by Fintur Holdings Group of Companies have organized contest to choose TV journalists from their countries and send them to Baku for training.
Attaching a high importance to its co-operation with journalists, Azercell Telecom will continue further its activities in field of improvement of professional skills of media representatives.
