Azercell and the Environment

On January 27, 2006, we made our report available to the public (that is, “Assessment of the impact to environment and social-economic life”) and the first presentation of this report was made in Neftchala city. We would mention that "Azercell" is the only company in the communications sector which has done such an assessment.

After surveys were conducted, the GSM equipment of our company was evaluated as the most advanced technical equipment. Security and compliance of this equipment with ecological norms were approved, and the economic efficiency was identified. The Report contained provisions, of great importance, for consideration of local conditions during installation of our equipment for the entire country, including Neftchala. It also contained measures to be taken against the impact of this equipment on the environment and on the social-economic sphere.

In this way, we set another example in the communications market. Together with providing high-level service for its customers, our company is continuously evaluating the impact of its network to the environment and social-economic life, and thus, demonstrates its compliance with the highest standards. We care for our subscribers, but we also care for all citizens of the country and the rich natural resources of Azerbaijan.

The works, carried out by our company for environmental protection, include financial support for the reconstruction of the National Park and the squares and parks in Mingachevir, Shamakhi, Lankaran and Guba.
