“Friend of the Youth” title

СEO of Azercell Telecom Ali Agan is awarded the title “the Friend of the Youth” due to his activities in solving the social problems of young people

25 February 2010, Baku: Mr. Ali Agan, CEO of Azercell Telecom LLC CEO was named “the Friend of the Youth” by the Youth Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The awarding took place at the presentation ceremony of a book entitled “the Five Years’ Achievements through the Eyes of Youth” published on the 5th anniversary of the Presidential Decree on Social and Economic Development of Regions.

Delivering her speech in the ceremony, Mrs. Ulviyya Hasanzadeh, head of Corporate Relations and Social Responsibility Unit of Azercell thanked the Youth Center for awarding this title to Azercell’s CEO. Mrs. Hasanzadeh emphasized that Azercell always supported projects aimed at solving the problems of children and young people. Among such measures, she noted the National Conference organized within “Every Child Needs a Family” campaign run jointly with the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF, opening of the Mobile Dental Clinic as well as Skills@Work contest held among students of of vocational schools together with the British Council. At the same time, she recalled services of Azercell envisaged in particular for our teenagers: GəncSim tariff package; MaksimumGənc program, ImtahanCell destined for those waiting the results of university entrance exams.

Furthermore, Azercell representative also briefed the ceremony participants on another important project started and aimed at the comprehensive development of children and their welfare: “The Children’s Hot Line created jointly with the NGO Alliance for Children’s Rights, the Ministry of Education and UNICEF is now available for children. Young and professional specialists working at the hot-line will study broadly the children’s problems by building an open talk with them and use various means to help those facing difficulties and being in stressful situation”.

At the end of her speech, the Azercell representative underlined the commitment of her organization to closely co-operate with both public and non-public organizations, international institutions and media and strive for wellbeing of our people.

It should be noted that the Friend of Youth award was to Ali Agan, Azercell Telecom LLC CEO for his attention and care paid to the implementation of public and social projects and his efforts in solving the social problems of young people as well as the development of the Azerbaijani economy. This award was founded by the Youth Center of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2007. In the result of polls and by the decision of the organization committee, the award is presented each year to the relevant nominations identified for various areas of activities, such as the improvement of the social welfare of people, charity activities, public and political services.
